Ycaza lifts RGV F.C. past San Diego with two goal performance

Rio Grande Valley F.C (5-6-0) was victorious against San Diego Loyal (6-3-2) at H-E-B Park on Saturday night behind a brace by midfielder Emilio Ycaza, 2-1. This marked the second consecutive win for the Toros as they spring back into the winning column. RGV F.C equalized at the 75th minute as Emilio Ycaza sent a laser shot to the top left of the goal from outside the box. The goal marked his second of the 2022 campaign, 1-1. At the 81st minute Rio Grande stole the lead on a tight play as the ball took a deflected bounce right in front of the line and snuck in to make it 2-1, Koke Vargas was unable to keep the ball from crossing the line on the play. Emilio Ycaza was credited with the goal as he sent the shot at goal from the right side of the 6-yard box, earning him the brace on the night. Ycaza has now scored three goals in two matches, earning the right as a new offensive weapon for RGV F.C.
